Mission at Greenhill

Sonic The Hedgehog raced down the paths through Green Hill Zone, nothing but a blue wind as he traveled at the speed of sound. He insanely ran, speed increasing as he cleared through numurous loopty loops and leapt over spike traps. He hadn't been here for years, ever since his first adventure against the forces of Eggman. In fact, the place still looked as if it had hidden evil inside. The spike traps sometimes held badniks inside, ready to snare a hedgehog's leg in their rusted metal jaws.

Sonic rounded a corner, stopping at a cliff. Looking out, he wondered if Tails had got the message he had sent to him to get down here. Sally had issued a mission....of great importance. The Hedgehog waited.....and waited.....

A wing suddenly appeared coming up from the cliff then, Tails' head. "Sonic!" He yelled out. "Jump onto the wing!... Wait! Gimme a sec..." Tails pressed a button and the plane wennt into auto hold mode. Tails dove into the depths of the plane and the bomb doors opened. All of the bombs that were being held dropped out onto rusted badniks and exploded. They had no chance... The doors closed and tails re-appeared again. "Sorry about that... Had to lighten the load..." He smiled and rubbed the back of his head. "Get on the wing!" He tipped the wing low to let Sonic on. Suddenly, smoke came from the cockpit and tails started to cough. "Dammit! I musta pulled a smoke grenade..." He opened the cockpit door to air it out. "Hurry *cough* up!"

''You're telling me to hurry up??'' Sonic tapped his foot, then crawled up on the wing.

The smoke fumes made Sonic cough and he rolled his eyes. He quickly started to run around on the plane. Since he was so fast, it was easy for him to clear the smoke out with his speed. As he moved that fast, badniks who were trying to get on were soon kicked aside like nothing. Sonic darted back to the wing, smirking as he looked to Tails.

''So, Sally gave us a certain mission. Apparently there's a village near Green Hill taken over by Eggman recently.'' He started, hoping Tails knew the rest. ''They've roboticized half the population.''

"Jesus Christ... The hell?! How did he do that so quickly!?" Tails Dipped the wing around to turn to the city and caused it to tip enough to make sonic slip off by accident of course. "Oh jeez..." He flipped the wing off and pressed a button on the console. He THOUGHT he was going for a rope but instead a life raft inflated in the cockpit. Tails tried to say something but his words were muffled. He released the life raft by stabbing it with his jacknife. He dipped down and went into a power dive beside sonic, the wing hiding him. He pulled under him and sonic hit the wing... Hard... Tails cringed at the impact. "My poor plane..." He pressed a button and sonic dropped into a seat behind him.
